Short description
Today, highly visible church buildings with special charisma in Martinshöhe, Knopp-Labach, Langwieden and Wallhalben characterize the picturesque villages along the hiking route.
The Palatinate Forest Hut near Martinhöhe commemorates the most popular native poet of the Palatinate, Fritz Claus (1853 - 1923), the pastor of the city in Zweibrücken and a founding member of the Palatinate Forest Association, founded in 1902, who has made great contributions to the designation of hiking trails in the Palatinate. One of the most famous works by Fritz Claus is the booklet "Happy Palatinate, God Receives" with poems and legends from his homeland.
