Cycle route through the Palatinate Uplands
Course: Enkenbach - Alsenborn - Otterberg - Weilerbach - Niederstaufenbach
Short description
A circular route on various bike paths in the region.
Starting from the town center in Weilerbach, the tour follows the signs for the “Pfälzer Land cycle path” to the center of Oberstaufenbach. There the route branches off the signposted connection route via Neunkirchen am Potzberg and Fockenberg-Limbach to Mackenbach and the “Barbarossa Cycle Path”. From Mackenbach, the circular route follows the signs of the “Barbarossa cycle path” via Rodenbach to Kaiserslautern. From the corner of K 1 / Rütschhofstrasse in Kaiserslautern, the tour follows the signs for the “Lautertal cycle path” via Otterbach and Katzweiler to the Hirschhorn Bordenmühle. From there the bike tour runs along the signs of the “Pfälzer Land cycle path” and leads through the Pfeifertal back to the starting point in Weilerbach.

Hiking Trail - Palatinate Musicians Route
Pfälzer Musikantenweg
Short description
Along the “Palatinate Musicians Route” you'll get a glimpse of the life and work of the traveling musicians. The hiking route might not lead across continents, but through a varied region that invites you to relax and enjoy.
It alternates between fields, forests and meadows. Get to know the typical musician villages of Jettenbach and Mackenbach (most of the traveling musicians came from these two villages), with their musicians' houses that is still characteristic of today's local architecture. The historic center of Reichenbach-Steegen - one of the starting points - is also worth making a detour. And if you want to know more about the traveling musicians, then you should visit the West Palatinate Musicians Museum in Mackenbach.
